Here is Our Technique for Animating 3D without using 3D Models

Rigging up a character is just a matter of uploading sprites, drawing out your bones, and binding each bone to a sprite. Our system will dynamically generate a 3D shape from your sprite, which you can then edit with a selection of simple tools.

Aside from connecting bones to sprites, you can also adjust how your sprite will render in 3D. Our engine generates height maps automatically and is surprisingly accurate at producing , but you can further refine your character by painting and smoothing over the height map for each body part. Once you’re finished rigging up your character, you’ll have yourself a fully-functional model for animating anything you’d like!
